Giving

to the peel compton foundation

The purpose of The Peel Compton Foundation is to provide an enduring legacy for future generations through education and the preservation of the history, heritage and natural beauty of northwest Arkansas. Simply put, we serve as a reminder to natives and newcomers the rich history of this region as exemplified in the Italianate Villa architecture of The Peel Mansion and Heritage Gardens and the lush, native beauty of the gardens and trails at Compton Gardens and Conference Center. Our commitment is to help teach the history of Benton County through such programs as Education Days. More than 800 schoolchildren experience life on the frontier in the two September days each year. Environmental preservation and appreciation of nature can be seen in the numerous groups of schoolchildren and seniors on the trails at Compton Gardens.

Visitors from all over the world have toured the Peel Mansion for a nominal sum with a guided tour by a trained docent. The gardens are included on this tour as well. Many visitors return years later to celebrate a special event, such as a wedding or anniversary, within the walls of the historic house or gardens. Walking the trails at Compton Gardens is free as is the Compton Interpretive Wall. Even guided tours at Compton Gardens requests only a donation based on that individual’s desire to give. A generous endowment has ensured that basic maintenance and operational needs of The Peel Mansion are met. While rental income has been helpful in stretching the budgets at both facilities, private support from our community ensures that both facilities remain beautiful and affordable to all.

Gifts can be made in a variety of ways – through annual giving, in-kind products, corporate sponsorship of events, and planned gifts through your will or trust. Our Executive Director, Connie Hendrix-Kral, would welcome the opportunity to meet with your professional advisor and family members to discuss a “forever” gift that could be named and restricted to your particular passion or interest.

For more information on how you can help The Peel Compton Foundation maintain existing programs and those for our future citizens, please contact Connie Hendrix-Kral at 479.254.3870. She will be glad to discuss giving opportunities and ways in which you or your company can be a part of The Peel Compton Foundation family.
